Leventis Motors, a division of A.G Leventis (Nig.) Plc, has continued to diversify its operations in Nigeria.The latest addition to its operations is its newly acquired agency for the distribution of Volkswagen Brazil trucks, buses and tractors.
Showcasing the new product range, recently, at a Customers’ Forum in Lagos the Executive Vice Chairman of A.G. Leventis (Nigeria) Plc, Chief Joseph Oke, hinted that apart from creating a niche for the company in the automobile industry, the introduction of the product range would meet the needs of its customers who were daily faced with the challenges of escalating vehicle maintenance costs.
Going down memory lane, Oke narrated the involvement of Leventis Motors in the automobile industry in Nigeria and with nostalgia traced the involvement of the company in the assembly of Mercedes buses and trucks business to the early seventy’s before the Federal Government of Nigeria came out with its own assembly plant for Mercedes Benz and trucks.
The service Manager for Volkswagen(VW) trucks and buses in Leventis Motors, Mr. Godfrey Achi, informed the forum that the VW fleet had grown over the past few years, from 150 units in 2006 to its current number of 350 and the number was expected to rise to 600 by 2009.
According to him, they were spread across the nation with a steady growth of its customer base. He said that the company’s after sales service were second to none and that its network of branches covered the entire country.
